S1000D Users - relatively new Google Group

This is a very short Blog to bring to your attention a discovery that I am sure has the potential to help all those who are new to S1000D or who have a knotty problem.

The other day I had an email from someone who reads this blog asking if I knew of an email list, bulletin board or whatever to do with S1000D. I must admit that this was something that had crossed my mind and was on a 'to-do' list. So this contact acted as a trigger for me to do some research.

The result of this research is that I have
found such a group for S1000D users (linked from here) which seems to have been started in November of last year. So far there have been three threads.

Full marks to "shiftsp" whoever he (or she) is.

Clearly we will have to wait and see how well membership to this group is taken up. Some other groups that I have been involved in have been very vibrant with quick and good quality responses and where touchy exchanges are at a minimum. Others have very little traffic and yet others full of grumpy old men.

I hope that this one fulfils the potential that it deserves for the S1000D community.

Please join in - your input will be appreciated I am sure.

Hello Martyn

I really appreciate the mention on your blog as this starts to become something tangible and hopefully useful to the S1000D community.

My name if Jeff Deskins, the person behind "shiftsp". I am a consultant currently working on a large S1000D project for a Global 100 Civil Aerospace Company.

I encourage those who read this to join and post questions or lessons learned.

Kindest Regards, Jeff Deskins
