Why?
For some time now we have had a small survey on this Blog which asks the fundamental question "are you using S1000D". More and more projects are demanding the use of S1000D. There are also a number of projects which, although not mandating S1000D, are actually using it because it makes good financial sense.I thought that it was about time that we had a poll which enabled us to get an idea of the spread of usage.
You will see that I am using a third-party survey and this has some limitations as to width. As a result the survey can be found at the bottom of this Blog. The survey takes a moment or two to start up - please be patient.
What are we asking?
The questions are straightforward.- Which version or versions of S1000D are you using - multiple choice
- Are you using a CSDB - single choice
Which version
An obvious Question given that S1000D has been in use for so long now. AlsoYou will be able to see the result of the answers pretty well straightaway.
Are you using a CSDB
Another obvious Question but one that needs to be asked. There does seem to be an assumption in some quarters that everyone is using a CSDB but I know from experience that this is not the case. Why has the type of survey been changed?
Well, the problem with the survey that we have had on this Blog up to now is that the questions about S1000D only required one answer. Clearly with this new S1000D survey there was a need to provide for multiple selections.I hope that this new S1000D Usage survey works as well as the other one. I will be monitoring it.
If you have any difficulties using it please let me know.
