A New Feature for the S1000D Blog

This is a very short posting blog to introduce a new feature for the S1000D Blog.

Although I have encouraged our readers to provide feedback to the S1000D postings in the form of comments I do realise that the vast majority of you either do not have time to put finger to keyboard, or don't feel the urge to respond. I can understand that, however, I really do value your opinions because it is important that there is pool of knowledge available a for others to tap into.

The New S1000D Blog Feature

To help this feedback process I have introduced a new feature on the S1000D Blog page. You may have noticed that there is a 'Poll Box' available.

It is our intention to change this Poll question from time to time so that we can build up a simple knowledge base of your opinions. The particular Poll feature that I have used gives you an immediate feedback on the results of the Poll to date. Obviously the more participants the more representative the sample is going to be.

I hope that we can generate a pool of knowledge and opinions which I will make 'public' from time to time in an omnibus posting.

Multi Clicking

The particular Poll application I am using has some built in checking which tries to ensure that multi-clicking will not work. So if you feel that you want to change the Poll by shear number of clicks you may be prevented from doing so.

I did notice that when we tested this feature it was a little unreliable counting the number of votes cast for each question but I have decided to deploy the feature just the same to try it out. Please give a click and I can see how good it is. If anyone knows of a more reliable Polling tool, please let me know.
