Retirement Looms - but not being put out to grass

Some of you may know that I am getting towards that time of life when the State says that I should retire. Tomorrow I will be reaching that age when the UK Government starts to pay me back all that money (I wish) that I have contributed to the 'Greater Good' during my working life.

What does this mean for me?

Well after a break of about a month during which I have some fairly essential jobs to do here at Davison Manor, Easter, and a trip to the wildest areas of Britain (Scotland actually) I shall no longer be working full time for Mekon. I am not deserting them completely since we have agreed that I will continue in a part time role within the Aerospace and Defence Department (can't get rid of me that easily!).

What this does mean is that I will also be able to spend more time developing interests which have had to take back stage until now. Some of these include getting my radio gear back on the air and spending more time with this S1000D Blog (which has been a bit neglected of late due to pressures of work).

What I definitely don't want to do yet is to give up my interest in S1000D and my aim to help those working in this area to develop their skills. It is important that S1000D is understood, because when it is most companies will have increasing confidence in their ability to deliver high quality material to their clients. Those who contact me on a regular, or even irregular basis, can be assured that I will still respond to their requests and calls for help.

In addition to my email address at Mekon, I can also be contacted using this link
